Have You Ever Looked This Good While Hiking?

I bet not... Everyone knows I love the urban photography scene, but every now and then I get the "nature" bug - usually on request.  So for this shoot, we ventured into the foothills.  And boy did we get what we bargained for - bugs... can you see them in any of these pictures?  There were hundreds of them... constantly swarming around our heads!  And little frogs, and salamander eggs, and poison ivy, and bobcats... all lurking around us.  And did I mention peacocks?  Well, we wished they were swarming us - we chased one around a bit hoping she'd pose for a picture but no such luck.  Anyway, thanks to the Northern California wildfires, the sky was one giant softbox (nature's studio lighting).  And here's the result...

The Best Behaved Puppy (and cute kids, too!)

As many of you know by now, dogs are easily one of my favorite subjects.  I have done numerous sessions with dogs of all sizes, and they are always so much fun.  So when I got a call from this family to do photograph their two children and their new golden retriever puppy, I knew this would be a great session. However, between my vacation, the Santa Cruz wildfires, etc., it took us a while to pull this together - I think I was sending emails telling them to stop feeding her until I could get out there for the shoot!  Anyway, she was the best behaved puppy I have ever seen (I have a Beagle that is incorrigible, so I know a well-behaved dog when I see one).  Can't beat a golden retriever puppy, cute kids and an orchard-esque backyard for really cute pictures!

And yes, I'm talking about a teenager!  This was a really fun session.  We did a combo session - in studio and out on location in downtown San Jose.  Those that are familiar with my "urban" sessions know that I love to venture into the "underbelly" of downtown San Jose - if there is such a thing... but hidden amongst the run down buildings and highway underpasses you will find some pretty amazing textures and backdrops for amazing pictures.  You blend one beautiful teen with some of these hidden locales and the end result is a great variety of pictures!  Brianna, thanks for you patience, I know you have been dying to see some of these!

Nothing Like a Cool Bike!

Meet Vicki.  Vicki is one of my 2009 senior models.  Isn't she gorgeous?  I just love the variety of looks one girl can pull off!  This is the first on-location shoot I did in downtown Palo Alto, and boy did we take a tour!  You can find so many interesting photo spots if you just get out of your car and walk around... one of my favorite things to do with patient and willing models!  And Vicki brought her super cool cruiser bike - the most brilliant shade of green!  Anyway, here are a few from our session...
